Low, I was low, I was way down low, I had nowhere else to go
I cried 'Lord, where can you be, are you listening Lord or are you ignoring me?'
I was right deep down at the bottom of the sea
Despair and fear they covered me

Pain, I felt such pain, you know I never want to feel such pain again
I cried 'Lord, where can you be, are you listening Lord or are you ignoring me?'

With hurt and pain engulfing me
Pain, I felt such pain.

Then my God said 'You spoke too soon, I am not ignoring you
I am here, oh can't you see that this suffering is a time that had to be?'
Then right deep down at the bottom of the sea
He reached out his hand took hold of me
He heard my cry and calmed my fears, took me in his arms and wiped my tears
He held me high and set me down, and there I stood on solid ground
Solid ground, solid ground, that's what I found
He put my feet on solid ground

What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer
Oh what peace we often forfeit, oh what needless pain we bear
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer

Yes right deep down at the bottom of the sea
He reached out his hand took hold of me
He heard my cry and calmed my fears, took me in his arms and wiped my tears
He held me high and set me down, and there I stood on solid ground

He put my feet on solid ground
